Baltimore, Md.—UMBC men's soccer head coach Pete Caringi Jr. announced the 2018 schedule on Thursday, which features 11 home games and 17 total games. The Retrievers will open their 52nd season of competition with four home games. UMBC will play four teams the were nationally ranked last year, including Western Michigan who was in the top ten for most of the year.
"We are playing a national schedule with a lot of top teams coming to Retriever Soccer Park this year," Caringi said of the schedule. "Teams like Air Force, Temple, Rutgers and College of Charleston will be tough tests to get us prepared for conference play. We are playing teams that not only went to the NCAA Tournament, but made it to the Sweet 16 last year. We were once again one of the top teams in attendance last year, and the teams we have coming to Baltimore should help boost that against this year."
