Baltimore, Md.—Retriever men's soccer will compete on six dates throughout March and April as part of their spring schedule. The highlight of the schedule is the fifth annual "Kicks For Chase" game against American on April 8.
"We are excited about our spring schedule, highlighted once again by the Kicks For Chase game now it its fifth year," head coach Pete Caringi said. "It supports a great cause and allows us to play in front of our fans against a quality opponent."
Kicks for Chase began in 2013 in memory of Chase Bugarin. Chase, son of UMBC soccer standout Bryan Bugarin ('95) and his wife Amy, was born with Down Syndrome and severe complications. In his honor, UMBC began "Kicks for Chase" to raise money for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Retrievers have hosted Georgetown, Maryland, Villanova and George Mason in the first four years of this special event.
The Retrievers kick off the spring season against the USL's Harrisburg City Islanders on Sunday, March 5. Kick-off is set for 2 p.m. at Lower Dauphin Middle School.
