Cincinnati, Ohio—Former UMBC men's soccer standout Kadeem Dacres signed with FC Cincinnati of the USL (United Soccer League), the club announced on Thursday. Dacres spent two years with the Retrievers after transferring from Mercer County (N.J.) Community College.
"We are excited about Kadeem signing with Cincinnati. We are extremely proud of what he has accomplished and how he continues to improve his game at a high level," UMBC Head Coach Pete Caringi Jr. said of Dacres. "The entire UMBC men's soccer family is excited to watch him compete at Cincinnati."
During his tenure at UMBC, Dacres earned All-Conference Second Team and All-Tournament Team honors in 2012 before being named America East Midfielder of the Year, All-Conference First Team and All-Tournament Team, as well as NSCAA All-American Third Team and All-Northeast Region First Team the following year.
He appeared in 41 contests, totaling 12 goals and seven assists for 31 points druing his time as a Retriever.
Dacres was drafted by the Chicago Fire with the eighth pick of the fourth round (65th overall) of the 2014 MLS Super Draft. He previously spent the last two years with Louisville City FC after spending 2014 with Arizona United. During his time with Louisville City, Dacres amassed eight goals, including six in 2015. The team did not lose a match in which he scored in 2015.
