Scouting the Retrievers:
-The Black and Gold fell 2-0 to America East foe Albany on Saturday in upstate New York. The Great Danes and Retrievers battled to a scoreless draw at the half, but a pair of Albany goals late in the second half propelled them to the win.
-Freshman Tre Pulliam leads the Retriever offense with four goals on the year, adding an assist for a team best nine points. Senior Christian Morales, junior Sammy Kahsai and sophomore Patrick Jean-Gilles have each scored two goals. Junior Gregg Hauck and freshman Jon Bell have three assists each for the Retrievers.
-Billy Heavner has started every game in net for UMBC, going 4-5-3 on the year. Heavner has made 38 saves for a save percentage of .667. He has allowed 19 goals for a goals against average of 1.47.
Scouting the Midshipmen:
-Navy comes into the match with the Retrievers at 3-7-3, 0-4-1 in the Patriot League after dropping a 2-1 decision to Bucknell last Saturday. Navy got out in front with a goal in the first half, but two Bison goals in the second half lifted Bucknell to a victory.
-Sam Bascom leads the Midshipmen offense with two goals and two assists for a team best six points. Bascom is one of three Mids with multiple goals, joining Daniel Kwon and Ericson Bean.
-Mac Burke has played every minute in net for Navy, making 53 saves for a save percentage of .779. He has allowed 15 goals for a goals against average of 1.09.
-UMBC currently ranks 22nd in attendance in the NCAA, averaging 1,130 fans at Retriever Soccer Park for matches. A total of 9,036 fans have flocked to Baltimore to see the Retrievers this year.
