Baltimore, Md.—UMBC returns to Retriever Soccer Park on UMBC 50 weekend against George Washington on Saturday. The Retrievers are coming off a 0-0 draw at #23 West Virginia on Wednesday. The Black and Gold managed just one shot on goal, but keeper Billy Heavner (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) had four saves in net to preserve the tie to move to 1-1-3 on the year.

Scouting the Retrievers:
-UMBC is coming off a 0-0 draw at No. 23 West Virginia on Wednesday night. The Retrievers managed just one shot from Tre Pulliam (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley), but the defense held strong, as Bill Heavner made four stops in net.
-A trio of Retrievers have tallied goals, including Patrick Jean-Gilles (Woodbridge, Va./South County), Christian Morales (Gaithersburg, Md./Frederick) and Tre Pulliam. UMBC has a scored a goal in all but one game this year, with Gregg Hauck (Linthincum, Md./North County), Pulliam, James Gielen and Jon Bell (Silver Spring, Md./Richard Montgomery) providing assists for the Retrievers in 2016.
-Billy Heavner has started every game in net for UMBC, going 1-1-3 on the year. Heavner has made 16 saves for a save percentage of .696. He has allowed five goals for a goals against average of 1.24.
Scouting the Colonials:
-George Washington comes into the contest with the Retrievers at 2-1-3 on the year, having most recently earning a draw against #10 Wake Forest on Tuesday in Winston-Salem. The Colonials were outshot 18-12, but keeper Thor Arne Hofs made seven saves in net.
-Three different Colonials have found the back of the net this year, led by Dylan Lightbourne with two goals. Garrett Heine and Oliver Curry have also scored tallies, with both adding an assist early in the year. Koby Osei-Wusu and Alastair Berry also have assists for the Colonials.
-Hofs has made every start and played every minute in net for the Colonials, giving up just four goals in six games. He has made 23 saves for a goals against average of 0.60.
-UMBC currently ranks 22nd in attendance in the NCAA, averaging 1,064 fans at Retriever Soccer Park for matches. A total of 4,244 fans have flocked to Baltimore to see the Retrievers this year.
Pulliam Earns Conference Recognition:
-Freshman Tre Pulliam was named America East Rookie of the Week for the week ending 9/11 for his one goal, one assist effort in UMBC's 3-2 win against Monmouth.
-UMBC and George Washington will be meeting for the 17th time in their series, with UMBC holding a 9-4-3 record.
-UMBC has won the last six meetings, dating back to 1998.
-The last meeting between the two was last year, where the Retrievers won 3-2 down in D.C. as UMBC scored three straight to win. Darius Madison scored twice, as Kennedy O'Shea added a goal and an assist in the victory.
-UMBC will have a short turnaround, as they host Howard on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at RSP.
