Scouting the Retrievers:
-UMBC went 0-1-1 during the Westin/Sheraton BWI Classic last weekend. The Retrievers dropped a 3-1 decision to UNC Wilmington on Friday, before earning a 1-1 draw to Northern Illinois on Sunday. Christian Morales and Tre Pulliam scored the goals for the Black and Gold.
-A trio of Retrievers have tallied goals, including Patrick Jean-Gilles (Woodbridge, Va./South County), Christian Morales and Tre Pulliam. UMBC has a scored a goal in every game this year, with Gregg Hauck (Linthicum, Md./North County) providing the lone Retriever assist on Morales' goal against UNC Wilmington.
-Billy Heavner (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) has started every game in net for UMBC, going 0-1-2 on the year. Heavner has made nine saves for a save percentage of .643. He has allowed five goals for goals against average of 1.45.
Scouting the Hawks:
-Monmouth comes into the contest with the Retrievers at 0-2-2, having most recently dropped a 3-0 decision to Colgate last Sunday in West Long Branch. The Hawks have lost both their games by scores of 3-0, with both ties coming by scores of 1-1.
-Colin Stripling and Jalil Blalock lead the Hawks offensive attack with a goal each for two points. Stripling has ripped seven shots, while going 1-2 on penalty kicks. Dave Nigro has the lone Monmouth assist in 2016, as he has put six shots on net. Chris Seager has seen the most action in net for the Hawks, playing in the last three matches. He has given up seven goals making 12 saves for an 0-2-1 record.
