    Former UMBC men’s soccer standout strikers Ray Ford and Bryan Bugarin will be honored on May 13, 2016 as the Old Timers Soccer Association inducts six new members into the Maryland Soccer Hall of Fame at a ceremony held at Columbus Gardens in Fullerton.

  • UMBC Men's Soccer Finishes 13th in the Nation in 2015 Attendance

    BALTIMORE - The UMBC men’s soccer program finished a school-record 13th-best in the nation in home attendance during the 2015 season. The Retrievers drew 1,543 fans per game, filling 77.7 percent capacity of Retriever Soccer Park. The capacity ratio is the sixth-best figure of the top 50 schools in the nation.

    Aberdeen, Md. – UMBC will host George Mason University in a very special soccer match at Retriever Soccer Park on Friday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. for the Fourth Annual “Kicks for Chase” game. The game features the UMBC Retrievers men’s soccer team, who made the NCAA College Cup national semifinals in the 2014 season, against the George Mason Patriots.

    Despite a tough stretch in America East Conference play of late, the UMBC men’s soccer team still controls its own league playoff fate as the Retrievers play the final two regular season contests in a five-day span. UMBC kicks off the two-game stand by travelling to Lowell, Mass. to take on the U. Mass Lowell River Hawks at Cushing Field on Saturday, Oct. 31.     The UMBC men’s soccer team (7-4-3, 1-1-2) will need to perform well on the road to enhance their conference status heading towards the America East playoffs. Two of UMBC’s three remaining AE games will be played on the road, including this Saturday’s rare afternoon contest at Binghamton (7-5-2, 2-1-1 AE). The Bearcats are one of three AE squads tied for first place in the conference, but UMBC, currently sitting in sixth, would leapfrog BU with a road victory. Binghamton will celebrate its Family Weekend/Senior Day on Saturday and kick-off time is set for 1:00 p.m. at Bearcats Sports Complex.

  • Men's Soccer's Record AE Unbeaten Streak Halted at Vermont

    Burlington, Vt. – UMBC’s America East record unbeaten streak of 27 games came to a halt, as the visiting Retrievers fell at Vermont, 3-0. The Retrievers had not lost in the regular or post season in league play since falling at Albany in October of 2012, winning 22 and drawing five times in that span.
