UMBC Men's Soccer To Host Maryland In Second Annual "Kicks for Chase" on April 11

The 2013 America East champion UMBC men's soccer team will host 2013 national finalist Maryland in the Second Annual "Kicks For Chase" contest at Retriever Soccer Park on Friday, April 11. The kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.

The teams are raising funds to benefit children born with Down Syndrome in the memory of Chase Bugarin.

Last spring, the UMBC and Georgetown men's soccer teams helped raise nearly $3,000 for The Arc Foundation of Harford County (Northern Chesapeake Region) as part the inaugural "Kicks for Chase" spring contest. Over 1,000 fans attended the event that saw the Retrievers defeat the Hoyas, 2-0.

In September of 2012, Chase Ryan Bugarin was welcomed into the world by parents Bryan (UMBC Soccer 1992-95) and Amy. Chase was born with Down Syndrome along with other serious complications.  After an 11-week fight, Chase passed away and though he is no longer with us, his memory lives on. He is survived by parents Bryan and Amy along with siblings Jordyn (10) and Brayden (3).

Admission to "Kicks for Chase" game is free, but donations are being accepted for The Arc Foundation of Harford County.
