INSIDE THE SERIES VS. HOWARD: UMBC leads the all-time series with Howard, 10-2-2. The Retrievers are unbeaten (2-0-2) in the last four meetings dating back to a 2-1 overtime loss to the Bison in 2002. The Retrievers won the last meeting, 4-0, in Washington, D.C., in 2007. Four of the last six contests (2001, 2002, 2004, 2005) have gone to overtime. UMBC is 5-0-1 in the last six meetings at home.

A GLANCE AT THE BISON: Howard is struggling this season with a winless record of 0-10-0. The Bison fell just short with a 1-0 loss against Mount St. Mary's on September 18th. HU lost at Temple on September 23, falling 4-0. The Bison could not hold of the strength of their offensive pressure from the Owls throughout the match where the Owls outshot the Bison, 24-7. Howard's zone was not enough for Temple's freshman forward Jared Martinelli who carried the Owls over HU with a six-point game of two goals and two assists.

Howard took leads of 1-0 in eventual losses to GW (2-1) and Towson (3-1).

JR M Phillip Coker had a two-goal game in a 3-2 loss vs. Liberty.  His second goal tied the score at 2-2 in the 75', before Liberty got the game-winner with under six minutes remaining.

UP NEXT: UMBC starts a two-game America East road swing at UNH on  Sat., Oct. 6. Kick-off in Durham, N.H. is set for 7:00 p.m.
