Accolades: Named to the America East Conference All-Rookie team and Second-Team All-Conference by the America East coaches in 2010… The first UMBC freshman to be named to one of the all-conference teams (first or second) since Matt Watson was selected in 2004.


2010: Tied for fourth in the America East Conference with 17 points and tied for fifth with six goals… Debuted with a two-goal effort vs. VMI on Sept. 2… Scored the third and fifth goals of the contest… Earned America East Rookie of the Week honors for that performance…  Scored the game-tying goal in the 85th minute vs. La Salle in an eventual 2-1 overtime victory on Sept. 15… Posted his first game-winning goal in the 78th minute as UMBC rallied for three second-half scores in a 3-2 win at Mount St. Mary’s three days later… Named America East Rookie of the Week on Sept. 20… His first four goals were scored in 207 minutes of action, all in a reserve role… Made his first start on Sept. 26 at Fairleigh Dickinson… Scored the game’s first goal in a 1-1 double overtime tie vs. Binghamton on Oct. 2 and scored the game’s second goal to give the visitors a 2-0 lead (game-winner) three days later in a 2-1 victory at Bucknell… Five of his six goals were scored in the second half of play… Drew the primary assist on Milo Kapor’s game-winning goal in overtime at Penn State on Oct. 20 and Andrew Bulls’ GWG vs. Hartford on Oct. 23.


Background: A Baltimore Sun First-Team All-Metro honoree… Also earned Second-Team All-State honors in 2009… Captained the Calvert Hall squad and led the Cardinals for the second straight year in scoring, posting 15 goals in his senior campaign… Named The Sun’s Player-of-the-Week in October 2009 after he scored the lone goal to help the Cardinals upset McDonogh, the top team in the nation at the time… Added a goal and an assist in a win over Gilman to cement the honor… … Scored two goals in the MIAA semifinals vs. Mount St. Joseph in front of 3,000 fans at Calvert Hall’s first night game in school history… Recorded a hat-trick this summer for his Baltimore Bays Chelsea side vs. Texas SC at the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Under-17/18 playoffs in Browns Summit, N.C….Considering a major in psychology…  Has a sister, Christina, age 22, who attended UMBC in 2010-11… Lists favorite professional team as AC Milan and favorite movie as Boondock Saints… Son of Susan and Pete Caringi, Jr., UMBC’s head men’s soccer coach … Peter Anthony Caringi III was born on Sept. 24, 1992.
