UMBC MEN'S SOCCER SHUTS OUT CENTRAL CONNECTICUT, 1-0

New Britain, CT- Sophomore Derek McElligott netted another goal to lift UMBC (6-4-2, 3-0-1 NEC) over Central Connecticut State University (6-3-1, 2-2 NEC), 1-0, in a Northeast Conference men's soccer matchup held Sunday afternoon at the CCSU soccer field.

The teams would play to a scoreless first half as both defenses played strong and did not allow too many quality chances. Derek McElligott was able to end the scoreless tie at 81:24 after receiving a brilliant pass from junior Oscar Villalobos. The Blue Devils could not respond with a goal of their own despite getting off a few shots in the last five minutes of play.

Senior Jeff Brunetti made two saves for CCSU, while Brian Rowland stopped three in the UMBC net.
