Teaneck, NJ-The UMBC men's soccer team fell behind Fairleigh Dickinson 2-0 in the first half before eventually succumbing, 3-2, in a Northeast Conference contest in Teaneck, New Jersey.

FDU jumped out to an early lead as Nate Olson scored just 3:16 into the match, giving the Knights a 1-0 lead. They would soon strike again as Aaron Paye beat UMBC junior goalkeeper Brian Rowland at the 16:25 mark to raise the Knights' lead to 2-0.

The Retrievers would then get on the board early in the second half as junior midfielder Alex Wilmot converted a P.J. Wakefield cross at 50:33. FDU would answer with their third goal in the 81st minute to push the lead back to two.

UMBC freshman forward Derek McElligott netted his ninth goal in ten games at the 84:45 mark, but time would run out on the Retrievers as they fell 3-2.

Overall, Rowland made four saves for UMBC as the Retrievers fall to 6-3-1 and 3-2-0 in the NEC.
