MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO ROBERT MORRIS

The trip did not begin well for UMBC as they dropped a 3-2 decision at Robert Morris on Friday. The Colonials scored twice in the first 13 minutes of the game. UMBC cut the lead in half when Andy Wells converted a penalty kick at the 34:16 mark. The Retrievers blizted the RMC cage with 11 second half shots and finally got the equalizer at 78:38, when P.J. Wakefield scored in the box off a pass by Alex Wilmot.

But Robert Morris reserve forward Cyril Allen won a ball deep in UMBC territory, and scored from 15 yards out with just 3:04 remaining to give the Colonials the victory.

UMBC outshot the hosts, 19-16, including 11-4 in the second half. Retriever netminder Brian Rowland made just one save in the game, while RMC netminder Matt Henson was forced to make eight in the Colonial net.
