UMBC Head Lacrosse Coach Don Zimmerman has announced his squad's 2014 fall schedule.
The Retrievers will participate in four competitions in a nine-day span in the first half of October.
The Retrievers will open the fall by travelling to Annapolis on Saturday, Oct. 4 to compete against both host Navy (10:00 a.m.) and Michigan (noon) in the Navy Fall Ball event.
Then, on Wed., Oct. 8, Japan's Keio University will make another appearance in Baltimore to compete against the Retrievers. Keio last played on the turf at UMBC Stadium in September of 2012. The game will be played under the lights at 7:00 p.m.
UMBC wraps up the fall on the weekend of Oct. 11-12. The team will take on the alumni in the annual contest as part of Homecoming, '14 on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. For the second consecutive year, the Retrievers have been invited to the Capital Lacrosse Invitational at the Landon School in Bethesda, Md. UMBC is expected to compete against Penn State (noon) and Georgetown (2:30 p.m.) on Sunday, Oct. 12.
Proceeds from the third annual Capital Lacrosse Invitational go towards The Mario St. George Boiardi Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization honoring the memory of George Boiardi, who lost his life while playing lacrosse at Cornell University in 2004.
