Will Bass was named Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach with men’s basketball in October 2016, where he assists Strength and Conditioning and
men’s basketball operations.
From 2007-13, William was a vehicle operator, instructor, and mechanic for the U.S. Air Force 21 st Special Tactics Squadron. In this role, he trained Combat Controllers, Pararescuemen, and Tactical Air Control Party members on 31 different vehicle types employed by the unit from Inflatable Zodiac Boats to Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles used in theatre, as well as operating vehicles as needed for missions. He also trained with Navy SEALs, USMC MARSOC, and Army Special Forces personnel to ensure Air Force personnel had all necessary training when deploying.
Will studied Exercise Science at Lenoir-Rhyne University from 2014-16 obtaining a B.S. in Exercise Science. He also interned with the men’s basketball program from
2015-16 helping them to reach the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the first time in school history. He obtained his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification in June 2016. While in his first year at UMBC he obtained his M.S. in Exercise Science from Lenoir-Rhyne University.
