Baltimore, Md.-- Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports will serve as the featured speaker at the Retrievers' Tip-Off Event on Friday, October 11 at the Bond Street Wharf in Fells Point.
Rothstein will be joined by UMBC Head Coach Ryan Odom as speakers for the fourth annual event.
Rothstein joined CBS Sports back in 2010 where he serves as a studio analyst on Inside College Basketball, CBS Sports Network's college basketball highlight show, and also contributes to CBS Sports' college basketball coverage both in studio and as a sideline reporter. Additionally, Jon has been a part of the network's MEN OF MARCH series and hosts the newly popular "Food and Basketball" feature segment, where he sits down with some of the biggest names in the sport. He is a regular correspondent for both WFAN and CBS Sports Radio and the lead college basketball insider for Sports Illustrated. Jon also hosts the "College Hoops Today" Podcast, the only college basketball podcast that exists 52 weeks out of the calendar year. Prior to joining CBS, Rothstein worked for ESPN Radio in New York as well as MSG Network.
Rothstein graduated from Ithaca College where he earned recognition as a distinguished young alumnus in sport. He also serves on the selection committee for the Naismith Hall of Fame's Jerry West Outstanding Shooting Guard Award that recognizes the top shooting guard in college basketball each year.
