UMBC meets a familiar foe on Tuesday, Nov. 22, when the Retrievers travel to New Britain, Conn. to face the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils. Both programs debuted at the NCAA Division I level in 1986-87 and Tuesday's contest will be the 33rd between the Devils and Dawgs. RETRIEVER UPDATE: UMBC (0-4) turned a 15-point first half deficit into an 11-point early second half lead, but could not hang on, falling, 84-79, at VMI on Saturday. The Retrievers hit a season-high 53.8 percent from the, but misfired on 12 of 32 free throw attempts and doubled the turnovers of the hosts, 18-9. After missing the first three games recovering from off-season surgery, senior guard Chris De La Rosa did return to the lineup and bolstered the offese with 17 points and 10 assists.

BLUE DEVIL UPDATE: CCSU (1-2) got in the win column on Saturday, routing visiting Army, 67-51. Senior guard Robby Ptacek scored a career-high 31 points and classmate Ken Horton added 19. Horton's 19 points move him into ninth place all-time on the CCSU scoring list with 1,495 career points The Blue Devils lost a pair of heartbreakders to open the season, falling, 73-69 vs. Yale and succumbing in overtime at NIagara, 102-93.
