Baltimore, Md.—Despite an inspired second half effort, UMBC could not overcome a record-low 10 first half points and fell, 63-46 to visiting New Hampshire in an America East Conference contest.

The Wildcats won for the third time in their last four outings and improved to 12-14 overall and 6-8 in league play. UMBC dropped its second in a row and fell to 5-21, 4-9.

UNH senior guard Tyrone Conley led all scorers with 25 points and added three steals and was the Wildcats' America East Player of the Game. Senior post Dane DiLiegro posted a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

UMBC freshman forward Chase Plummer (Elizabeth, N.J.) scored all 13 of his team-high points in the final 20 minutes and earned Player of the Game honors for the Retrievers.

New Hampshire scored the game's first seven points , but UMBC was still hanging around after two Adrian Satchell free throws cut the deficit to 18-10 with 9:35 to play in the first half. But those were the last points UMBC would score in the half as UNH would pile on 21 to take an insurmountable 39-10 halftime advantage.

UMBC entered the game leading the conference with only 11 turnovers per game in league action, but committed 15 first-half miscues, resulting in 20 UNH points.

The Retrievers outscored UNH, 36-24, in the final 20 minutes, hitting 15 of 29 shots from the floor and outrebounding the visitors, 20-7. The closest UMBC would come was the final margin of 17 points behind.

Plummer picked up two quick fouls in eight seconds in the first half and exited the game. He hit 6-of-8 second half shots, snared a team-high seven rebounds and recorded two steals in a total of 13 minutes.

UMBC's previous low for scoring in a half in a Division I game was 13 points on two occasions, the most recent at Virginia Tech on Dec. 22, 2009. The all-time record is nine points scored vs. Indiana (Pa.) at the NCAA Division II level on Dec. 28, 1982.

Conley hit 9-of-18 shots from the floor and scored 18 of his points in the first 20 minutes.
