"RAC In Black 2011"--Men's Basketball to Host Binghamton in Thursday Night Action

Binghamton at UMBC (2-3-11)

Two teams looking to halt losing streaks meet at the RAC Arena on "RAC in Black Night", as UMBC hosts Binghamton on Thursday, Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. The Retrievers have dropped three in a row, while the Bearcats are on a six-game skid. Fans can catch all the action on Fox 1370 Sports Radio (www.fox1370.com) with Gary Stein and Paul Mittermeier on the call, beginning with the pregame show at 7:25 p.m. The game is also available on umbcretrievers.tv and Mid-Atlantic Sports Network.


RETRIEVER UPDATE: Four of the Retrievers' last five games have come down to the wire, including Monday's 69-59 setback at Stony Brook. UMBC led at the 5:00-minute mark, butg was outscored 16-3 to end the game. Freshman forward Chase Plummer recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds vs. the Seawolves, but UMBC hit only 18 of 50 attempts from the floor.


BEARCAT UPDATE: Since defeating UMBC, 83-75, on Jan. 12, Binghamton has dropped six in a row., but the last two have been by narrow margins, falling 77-66 at Boston U. on Jan. 26 and 77-74 to Manie on Jan. 29. Senior forward Mamamound Jabbi earned AEC co-Player of the Week honors on Jan. 31 as he averaged a double-double of 20.5 points and 10.0 rebounds last week. Jabbi scored 22 points and added 10 rebounds and four blocks at Boston U., then contributed 19 points and 10 rebounds in the near-upset of Maine.
