Baltimore, Md.—UMBC Baseball takes their four-game win streak to Delaware on Wednesday after a perfect 4-0 week last week. The Retrievers defeated Towson 13-0 and swept Maine to move to 17-20, 9-6 AE on the year. UMBC is currently in second place in the America East, just a game behind Hartford for first.

Scouting the Retrievers:
-UMBC enters the midweek meeting with the Blue Hens at 17-20 and on a four-game win streak after a perfect 4-0 week. The Retrievers swept America East rival Maine at Alumni Field, belting four home runs in three games with Collin Stack (Jamestown, N.Y.) hitting a grand slam in game one.
-Freshman Joey Goodwin (Rockville, Md./Good Counsel) leads the Retrievers at the plate, batting .420 with 29 hits and 11 runs scored. Zack Bright (Fairfax Station, Va.) and AJ Wright (Cherry Hill, N.J.) lead the team with 38 hits. Bright has four home runs on the year and a team best 25 RBI with Wright leading the way with 18 doubles and 24 runs scored.
-Stephen Schoch (Laurel, Md./Appalachian State) leads the pitching staff with a 1.51 ERA, just three points off the single season record set by Conrad Wozniak in 2015. He has eight saves in 18 appearances and a team best 41.2 innings pitched with 56 strikeouts. Freshman Aaron Husson (Hawley, Pa.) leads the team with four wins.
Scouting the Blue Hens:
-Delaware enters the midweek matchup at 22-20 on the year and will have a game against Saint Joseph's on Tuesday afternoon. Most recently, the Blue Hens were swept at the hands of the College of Charleston this weekend.
-Kyle Baker and Kevin Mohollen lead the Blue Hens at the plate batting .320 and .308 respectively. Baker leads the team with 29 RBI with eight doubles, four triples and two home runs. Mohollen has a team best 48 hits with 12 doubles and 36 runs scored.
-Kyle Hinton and Billy Sullivan IV lead a pitching staff that has a team ERA of 4.11. Hinton has thrown the most innings at 65.0 with 63 strikeouts. Sullivan IV leads the team with 68 strikeouts.
-The Blue Hens and Retrievers will be meeting 54th time in the all-time series with Delaware holding a 39-14 advantage. Last year, the two split the season series with each team winning at home.
-Last year's win was the first since 2008 for UMBC after the two took a hiatus from playing each other for four years.
-Matt Chanin (Olney, Md./Sherwood) and Joey Goodwin earned conference player of the week honors on Tuesday. Chanin was named Co-Pitcher of the Week after not allowing a run in two appearances this week. He struck out six batters, allowing just two hits in a win against Maine.
-Goodwin was named Rookie of the Week after he batted .529 with seven RBI and three runs scored in four wins for the Retrievers this past week.
-UMBC will conclude their road swing at first place Hartford this weekend. The Retrievers and Hawks will play two on Saturday, May 5 with a single on Sunday, May 6. Both days start at noon.
