Scouting the Black Bears:
-Maine heads into the weekend at 11-25, 6-6 AE, tied for third place in the conference with the Retrievers. Last time out, the Black Bears dropped two of three to UMass Lowell, including a 1-0 loss that saw Nick Silva throw a no-hitter.
-Jeremy Pena leads the team with 41 hits and three triples. Danny Casals has driven in a team best 28 runs with Christopher Bec and Hernen Sardinas belting four home runs each.
-Maine will throw Zach Winn and John Arel on Saturday, with Silva pitching the finale. Arel leads the rotation with a 2.91 ERA going 4-1 in four starts and ten appearances. Silva leads the staff with 41 strikeouts as the Black Bears have a collective 5.88 ERA and are allowing batters to hit .271 off them.
