Baltimore, Md.—UMBC baseball will return to action after rain affected a pair of midweek games scheduled against Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware. The Retrievers will host the Knights with a double header on Friday consisting of two seven inning games due to expected snow in the Baltimore area this weekend.

Scouting the Retrievers:
-UMBC enters the weekend at 7-15 after taking two of three from Binghamton last weekend. UMBC took game one 8-6 in comeback fashion before splitting the double header on Saturday with a 6-1 win and 5-3 loss.
-Freshman Joey Goodwin (Rockville, Md./Good Counsel) and senior Zack Bright (Fairfax Station, Va.) lead the team at the plate with a .375 and .286 average respectively. Goodwin as appeared in the last six games, going 6-16 from the plate with two runs scored and three RBI. Bright leads the team with 22 hits and 14 RBI, drilling four doubles, one triple and two home runs.
-Mitchell Wilson (Hagerstown, Md./St. James) leads the rotation with a 3.97 ERA with a 1-1 record in 22.2 innings pitched. He has 19 strikeouts, with seven of them coming this past weekend. Stephen Schoch (Laurel, Md./Appalachian State) leads the bullpen and the team with a 1.88 ERA throwing a team high 28.2 innings with 42 strikeouts.
Scouting the Knights:
-FDU comes into the weekend at 7-12 and 0-6 in NEC play having lost their last seven contests. Most recently, the Knights were swept by LIU Brooklyn, being outscored 22-6 in three games.
-Jason Fatzinger leads the Knights at the plate with a .313 batting average and a team best 21 hits. Evan McDonald provides the power with five doubles, a pair of triple and a team best four home runs with 15 RBI.
-On the mound, Corey Zeller leads the rotation with a 3.10 ERA in five starts, going 2-2 in 29.0 innings of work. Trent Valentine leads the team with 25 strikeouts.
-The Retrievers and Knights will be meeting for the 12th and 13th time in the all-time series with UMBC holding an 8-3 lead. The two have not played since 2003 when both were members of the Northeast Conference, with UMBC winning eight of the last nine.
-UMBC has never lost to FDU at home, not having played the Knights in Baltimore since 2000.
-UMBC will remain in Baltimore to take on George Washington on Tuesday, April 10 at Alumni Field. The Retrievers will turn around and travel to Delaware the next day with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.
