UMBC Baseball Hosts Binghamton for Weekend #AEBASE Series

Baltimore, Md.—UMBC baseball welcomes the Bearcats for a weekend America East series matchup this Friday and Saturday. The Retrievers are coming off an 11-4 loss to George Mason on Wednesday in Fairfax. Senior Zack Bright (Fairfax Station, Va.) led the way with a pair of hits and two RBI in the loss.

Scouting the Retrievers:

-The Retrievers enter the weekend set at 5-14, 2-1 AE coming off an 11-4 loss to George Mason on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Zack Bright led the way with a pair of hits and a pair of RBI in the loss.

Scouting the Bearcats:

-Binghamton heads to Baltimore on a three-game losing streak, sitting at 4-13, 1-2 AE on the year after falling to St. John's last weekend in Vestal. The Bearcats went 1-2 against Stony Brook in their first conference weekend two weeks back.

-Anthony Meduri and Jason Agresti lead the offense with a .368 and .323 average respectively. Meduri leads the team with 21 hits, with CJ Krowiak scoring 11 times, driving in 12 runs.

-Nick Wegmann leads the rotation with a 3.77 ERA in five starts. He has thrown 28.2 innings with 18 strikeouts. Nick Gallagher leads the staff with 21 strikeouts.

All-Time Series:

-The Bearcats and Retrievers have met 61 time before this weekend, with all but three meetings coming in America East play. Binghamton holds a 44-17 (44-14 AE) record all-time. Last year, the Bearcats took the season series 2-1 in Vestal in early March. Since 2015, UMBC is 8-4 versus the Bearcats.
