Baltimore, Md.—UMBC baseball returns to the east coast after getting swept by Missouri this past weekend. UMBC was shutout in two games, nearly pulling an upset in the middle game before the Tigers took an extra inning win.

Scouting the Retrievers:
-The Retrievers are coming off a tough weekend set against Missouri where the Tigers swept the Retrievers. Mizzou outscored the Retrievers 18-6 over the three games, with five of the UMBC runs coming on Saturday.
-Dalton Stewart (Sharpsburg, Md./Boonsboro) leads the offense with a .250 batting average, having played and started in every game for the Retrievers. He has a team best six hits with two runs scored and two RBI. Junior AJ Wright (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) has driven in a team best three RBI with a home run and a double.
-Mitchell Wilson (Hagerstown, Md./St. James) leads the rotation with a 5.59 ERA, going 0-1 in two starts so far this year. Jacob Christian (Nokesville, Va./Patriot) and Stephen Schoch (Laurel, Md./Appalachian State) led the bullpen with a 1.50 and 1.93 ERA respectively. Christian has the lone victory this year, while Schoch leads the staff with 10 strikeouts.
Scouting the Colonials:
-George Washington comes into the contest at 5-6 on the year after a series win against Monmouth this past weekend. The Colonials bookended the weekend with wins, dropping the middle game of the set. George Washington is 4-1 at home this year.
-Mark Osis leads the offense with a blistering .409 averaging with 18 hits and three doubles. He has scored eight times, playing and starting in all 11 games. Nate Fassnacht has driven in a team best 12 runs on ten hits. Isaiah Pasteur leads the Colonials with three home runs.
-Elliott Raimo leads the rotation with a 1.74 ERA in three starts, going 1-1 with a shutout. He leads the staff with 16 strikeouts, walking just one batter. The Colonials will start Jaret Edwards on Tuesday. Edwards is 1-0 in two appearances and seven innings pitched. He has five strikeouts with two runs given up, none earned.
-The Colonials and Retrievers will be meeting for the 52nd time in the all-time series with the Colonials leading the series 33-18. GW has won the last three meetings, including a season sweep last year. However, both games last year were decided by just one run as the Retrievers fell 4-3 at home and 3-2 in Arlington.
-The Retrievers will have their opener, hosting the UMBC Tournament this Friday-Sunday. UMBC will welcome Hofstra and Mount St. Mary's to Alumni Field.
