Baltimore, Md.—UMBC baseball begins a ten game road trip at Georgetown on Tuesday night, after taking two of three from America East rival UMass Lowell this past weekend. The Retrievers dropped game one before taking games two and three to win the series and move to 13-17, 7-5 AE.

Scouting the Retrievers (13-17):
-UMBC comes into the mid-week contest at 13-17 on the year, sitting in second place in the America East, just three games back of first place Binghamton. The Retrievers most recently took two of three from UMass Lowell this past weekend. UMBC dropped game one, 6-2, before taking games two and three be a score of 5-2.
-Jamie Switalski (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) and Hunter Dolshun (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) set the table for the Retriever offense, batting .321 and .314 respectively. Switalski and Dolshun are tied for the team lead with four home runs, with Dolshun leading the squad with 21 RBI.
-UMBC will throw Jacob Christian (Nokesville, Va./Patriot) against the Hoyas. Christian is 1-2 on the year with an 8.18 ERA in five starts. He has thrown 33.0 innings with a team best 37 strikeouts. Matt Chanin (Olney, Md./Sherwood) leads the rotation with a 4.75 ERA, while Mitchell Wilson (Hagerstown, Md./St. James) leads the staff with four wins.
Scouting the Hoyas (21-18):
-Georgetown is coming off a sweep at the hands of BIG EAST foe Seton Hall last weekend. The Pirates outscored the Hoyas 26-11 in the three games.
-Michael DeRenzi and Jake Kuzbel lead the offense with .377 and .351 batting averages. Both have blasted four home runs with Kuzbel driving in a team best 36 runs, having played and started in every game for the Hoyas.
-Georgetown will trot Nick Leonard to the hill against the Retrievers. Leonard is 4-1 on the year with a 3.28 ERA in seven starts. He has thrown 46.2 innings with 36 strikeouts. Jimmy Swad is the leader out of the bullpen, collecting six saves in 20 appearances. He has thrown 24.1 innings, striking out 30 batters.
-Georgetown and UMBC will be meeting for the 51st time all-time with the Retrievers holding a 32-18 advantage.
-Last year the Hoyas won a 6-5 extra inning game in North Carolina and 1-0 contest at Shirley Povich Field. The Retrievers won the final 9-4 at Alumni Field in May.
