Baltimore, Md.—UMBC baseball will look to snap their seven game losing streak with a three game weekend set at James Madison this weekend. The Retrievers are coming off a 1-0 loss to Georgetown on Tuesday. UMBC had five hits, but had three errors in the loss that drops them to 1-7 on the year.

Scouting the Retrievers:
UMBC is coming off a 1-0 loss at Georgetown on Tuesday. The Retrievers mustered five hits, but had three errors, with one of them leading to the lone run of the game. Five different Retrievers had a hit in the loss that dropped them to 1-7 on the year.
At the plate, Nick Naumann (Essex, Md./John Carroll/Chestnut Hill) and Kevin Lachance (Clifton, Va./Centreville) are leading the team with a .407 and .355 batting average respectively. Both are leading the team with 11 hits, with Lachance hitting six doubles, two home runs with three stolen bases.
On the bump, Riley Stephenson (Meridian, Idaho/Boonsboro) is leading the starters with a 1.46 ERA in two starts, going 0-1. The righty has thrown 12.1 innings with seven strikeouts. Conrad Wozniak (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Woods/Frank Phillip) is leading the staff in strikeouts with nine in 11 innings pitched.
Scouting the Dukes:
James Madison sits at 3-5 on the year, and come into the weekend having defeated George Washington, 2-1 on Tuesday. Trailing 1-0, the Dukes got runs in the seventh and eighth to earn the comeback win. Adam Sisk led the Dukes, going 3-4 from the plate in the game.
The Dukes have a trio of batters hitting over .300 in the early going, led by Chad Carroll who is hitting .353 with a team best 12 hits. Ky Parrott and Sisk are both hitting over .300 at .321 and .300 respectively.
On the hill, JMU is led by Aaron Hoover, who has a 3.60 ERA in two starts, throwing ten innings. Hoover is 1-1, having given up nine hits and four earned runs. Ben Garner leads the team with six strikeouts.
The Dukes lead the all-time series 7-2, including winning six of the last seven. UMBC won the most recent meeting, 13-5 back in 1999 in Harrisonburg.
The Retrievers will head to Towson on Tuesday, March 8 with a 3 p.m. game. UMBC will then host Coppin State in their home opener on Wednesday, March 9 at 3 p.m.
