2014: Started and played in all 46 games at short stop for the Retrievers as a sophomore… One of three Retrievers (Andrew Casali – CF; Vince Corbi – 2B) to start each game at the same position… Hit .256 on the season, collecting 46 base hits, the second-highest total on the team… Recorded 11 multi-hit games… Led the team in runs with 30 while also driving in 13… Stole a team-high 12 bases as the Retrievers swiped 62 bags on the year, the second-highest total in school history… Drew 23 walks while striking out 20 times… Had a hit in seven straight games from March 15-27… Hit .423 over that span, connecting for four multi-hit games… Scored seven runs during the streak… Registered three hits in a game twice (March 1 at William and Mary; March 10 at Elon)… Went 1-for-4, but drew three walks, and scored once as the Retrievers took down Maine, 7-6, in 12 innings at Alumni Field on March 23 to give UMBC’s its first-ever series win over the team’s conference rivals… Drove in the game’s first run with a double in the season-finale at Maine on May 18 as UMBC defeated the Black Bears, 2-1… Named to the America East Honor Roll.
2013: Selected as a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper… Named to the 2013 America East All-Conference Second Team and All-Rookie Team as a shortstop… Started and played in all but one game for UMBC as a freshman, 45 of which came as the starting shortstop for the Retrievers… Led UMBC in hitting with a .303 batting average, collecting a team-best 53 hits, 15 of them for extra bases… Recorded a team-high 13 multi-hit games, including two 4-hit games… Hit his first career homerun on April 9 versus Delaware… Registered UMBC’s longest hit streak of the year, ten games, which spanned March 24-Apr. 9… Notched two 4-hit games during the season (March 29 at Stony Brook; May 9 at Coppin State)… Stole 13 bases during the season… Named the America East Rookie of the Week on May 13 after hitting .474 (9-for-19) against Coppin State and conference rival Hartford… Went 1-for-4 in the team’s season opener against College World Series participant N.C.
