Cohn Named All-American by Jewish Sports Review

LOS ANGELES – Junior reliever Jon Cohn (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) was named to the 2013 College Baseball All-America Team by the Jewish Sports Review, the media outlet announced in its July/August issue.

Cohn's recognition comes after he was selected to the America East All-Conference First Team back in May.

After missing much of the 2012 season due to injury, the junior righty came back to lead the team with a 2.92 ERA while posting a team-high four wins.  For the year, Cohn made 19 appearances, starting twice, and working a total of 52.1 innings for the Retrievers.

Overall, the UMBC pitching staff dropped its ERA (4.78) by over four points from 2012 (9.01) and the team made an eight-win improvement in head coach Bob Mumma's second year.

Cohn is the second Retriever to earn national recognition this season after freshman Kevin Lachance (Clifton, Va./Centreville) was selected as a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
