UMBC Baseball's Fowler Named Conference Player of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--UMBC baseball senior Joe Fowler (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) has been named the America East Player of the Week for the week ending March 9, the conference announced Wednesday.
Fowler was instrumental in the Retrievers' wins over Delaware and Navy last week, including tallying the game-winning home run, a two-run shot in the eighth, against Delaware.
The senior batted .562 for the week, and started all four games for the Retrievers, recording two doubles, a triple, two home runs, and a team-high 10 RBI over the course of the week.
Fowler's second home run of the week came against Manhattan on Sunday, when he posted a two-run affair in the ninth.
Vermont's Joe Serafin and Stony Brook's Nick Thode picked up the conference's weekly Pitcher and Rookie of the Week awards, respectively.
