Visit Annapolis Renews Partnership as Official Visitors Bureau for UMBC Retriever Athletics

ANNAPOLIS - Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County (VAAAC) has teamed up with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County's (UMBC) Athletics' Department to make it easier for visiting teams, fans and UMBC visitors to book rooms for on-campus events. As the Official Visitors Bureau for Retriever Athletics through 2017, VAAAC has enhanced its website to include a new landing page that lists preferred hotel partners for the university's 17 varsity teams and other visitors to the suburban Baltimore campus.


VAAAC President and CEO Connie Del Signore says the creation of is a win-win for both parties. "Our BWI area hotels are strategically located to accommodate the thousands of families, alumni and fans that visit UMBC each year. simplifies the planning process by providing a one-stop-shop for selecting the right rooms for the right occasions."


UMBC Assistant Director of Athletics Mike D'Archangelo says UMBC Athletics' BWI-based partner hotels have created overnight rates and offers exclusive to UMBC guests, alumni, their families, friends, event attendees and conference guests. Visit Annapolis and is providing greater exposure for the university's partner properties even as it simplifies the planning process for UMBC visitors.

News of the updated site is expected to travel fast as VAAAC cross promotes on its website as well as on, the official webpage for UMBC Athletics. VAAAC will further promote the site via signage at UMBC games, print advertising and streaming advertisements on UMBC Athletics' on ESPN3 and
