THOMAS PLACES SIXTH AS WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES VS. AMERICAN, NAVY

Annpolis, MD--Sophomore Stefanie Thomas finished in sixth place at Navy's Salty Sea Dog Invitational 5k race. Thomas completed the course in a time of 19:45.19. American Univeristy had the top three runners, and defeated UMBC, 17-38, while Navy placed five runners in the top eleven and bested the Retrievers, 18-37.
Retriever junior Cara Wettlaufer was UMBC's second finisher, placing 14th in a time of 20:13.27. Freshman Britta Nelson placed 19th (20:20.10), followed by freshman Jazzmon Morgan (22nd, 20:31.66) and Kathleen Galan (28th, 21:02.36).
