STEFANIE THOMAS NAMED CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETE OF THE WEEK; IZUDIN MEHMEDOVIC TAKES HOME ROOKIE OF WEEK HONORS

Freshmen Stefanie Thomas and Izudin Mehmedovic were honored by the Northeast Conference for their sensational efforts this past Saturday at the Lafayette Leopard Invitational.
After garnering Rookie of the Week honors on September 10 and September 17, Thomas was named the Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week this afternoon. The native of Springfield, PA (Springfield HS) recorded a terrific 6k time of 21:08.55 and finished fourth overall among 109 runners.
Mehmedovic (Oakland Mills/Columbia, MD) wins his second NEC Rookie of the Week award after covering the 8,000 meter course at Lafayette in an impressive time of 26:17.43. The time was good for twelfth place out of 146 harriers.
