STEFANIE THOMAS GARNERS SECOND STRAIGHT CROSS COUNTRY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK AWARD

UMBC freshman harrier Stefanie Thomas (Springfield/Springfield, PA) was named the NEC Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week this afternoon. Thomas, who captured first place in the Baltimore Metro Meet on September 14th, was UMBC's top finisher at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Maryland this past Saturday. Thomas completed the 5,000 meter run in 18:52.99, a time that was good for 5th place out of 145 competitors.
