CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT NAVY INVITATIONAL

9/14/2002

The men's squad took 5th place at the Navy Invitational while the women finished 6th in Annapoilis, Maryland this morning. Navy won the men's race with 30 points and took the women's event with 50 points.The men were led by junior Adam Driscoll, who covered the 8k race in 26th place with a time of 25:56.06. Sophomore Jesse Stump was right behind Driscoll in 27th with a time of 25:57.06. Senior Phil Knowlton (29th, 26:02.66), freshman Izudin Mehmedocic (34th, 26:10.59), and senior Aaron Johnson (46th, 26:43.94) rounded out UMBC's top five.On the women's side, freshman Stefanie Thomas continued to impress as she finished 5th overall in 18:52.99. Senior Hannah Benjamin (31st) followed with a time of 20:08.98.
