MEHMEDOVIC AND THOMAS NAMED NEC CROSS COUNTRY ROOKIES OF THE WEEK

UMBC freshmen Izzy Mehmedoviv and Stefanie Thomas both earned NEC Rookie of the Week honors for their efforts last weekend. Mehmedovic earns Rookie of the Week honors after pacing UMBC to a first place finish in the Baltimore Metro Invitational last weekend. Mehmedovic finished the 8k race in 27:21, placing fourth overall. Thomas claims Rookie of the Week honors after leading the Retrievers to a first place finish in the Baltimore Metro Invitational last weekend. Thomas finished first overall with a time of 18:59, a full minute ahead of the second place finisher.
