UMBC MEN'S XC TAKE THIRD AT NAVY INVITATIONAL; WOMEN PLACE SIXTH.

The Retriever men were a solid third in the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Maryland. Navy won the meet with 15 points, followed by American (81), UMBC (83), Delaware (95), Maryland (103), George Mason (162) and Loyola (no score. The women placed sixth in the meet. Navy won it with 45 points, followed by Delaware (59), American (80), Maryland (116), George Mason (119), and UMBC (190). For the men, Doug Allen led the way with a 10th place effort, finishing the 8000 meter course in 26:00.50. Senior Jake Klim was in 12th, in 26:06, and Ben Werbos placed 17th in 26:27.60. Rounding out the top five were Conrad Haber (27th-27:07.60) and Greg Saylor (29th-27:13.80). On the women's side, senior Jen Ecker led UMBC with a sixth place effort, running the 5000 meters in 19:52.02.
