ECKER WINS THIRD STRAIGHT INDIVIDUAL TITLE AT METRO CHAMPIONSHIPS; MEN FINISH FIRST OVERALL

UMBC senior Jen Ecker captured her third straight Baltimore Metro individual championship.

Baltimore, MD-- UMBC senior runner Jen Ecker captured her third consecutive first place finish at the Baltimore Metro Championships. Her efforts helped the UMBC women to a second place finish. On the men's side, the Retrievers placed seven runners in the top ten to capture the title by a 43 point margin.Ecker covered the 5,000-meter course in a time of 19:23, sixteen seconds in front of teammate Cara Wettlaufer, who finished second. Doug Allen led the men's list of top ten finishers as he captured second in a time of 26:46. Jake Klim and Adam Driscoll followed closely behind Allen with times of 27:07 and 27:12, respectively. Phil Knowlton (27:26), Conrad Haber (27:38), Greg Saylor (27:43) and Jesse Stump (28:13) finished sixth through ninth to round out the Retriever scoring.
