Izudin Memedovic and the men's team was selected to finish fifth in the confernece.

Stefanie Thomas and the women's team was selected to finish seventh in the conference.

– The UMBC men’s cross country team was selected to finish fifth while the women were chosen seventh out of nine programs in the America East Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll.  Conference coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own team, conducted the voting in determining the preseason poll. 

The men’s team, led by captains Izudin Memedovic and Shawn Shokry, return 11 letterwinners providing plenty of depth.  Last season Memedovic placed 13^th at the America East Conference Championships.

The women’s team is led by their captains as well with Stefanie Thomas and Kathleen Galan returning.  Thomas, a senior, placed 13^th in the conference championships last year and is aiming for a top-10 finish this season.  UMBC welcomes two strong freshman runners to mesh with a cast of returners.

New Hampshire was chosen to win the men’s cross country title while Boston U. is the favorite to win the women’s title.
