MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY PLACES FOURTH, WOMEN SEVENTH AT BINGHAMTON INVITATIONAL

Mehmedovic finished in a time of 25:39 to place second after coming last weekend’s win at the Mount St. Mary’s 5K Duals. Mehmedovic paced the Retrievers to a team score of 110 points and fourth overall. Shawn Shokry took 18th in 26:14, J.J. Wetzel 21 in 26:25, Blake Davis 31st in 27:11 and Ryan Cartwright 28th in 27:27 to round out the Retriever scoring.
Thomas on the women’s side led UMBC to a 179 point team score for seventh place as a team. Thomas finished 18th in 19:59 while teammate Kathleen Galan took 25th in 20:24. Allison Mathis finished in 21:33 for 42nd, Tawny Barin placed 46th in 21:50 and Emily Saltsman took 48th in 22:21.
The Retrievers return to action next Saturday at the Navy Invitational.
