Annapolis, Md. - The UMBC Cross Country men’s and women’s teams competed at the Men’s Navy Invitational and Women’s Salty Seadog Invitational on Saturday afternoon as the Retriever men finished in fourth place with a team score of 110 while the women placed seventh with a team mark of 149. Leading the way for the men was Izudin Mehmedovic with a 8K time of 25:47.34 and Stefanie Thomas for the women in a pace of 23:30.40 on the 6K course.

Other men’s scorers were Shawn Shokry placing 21st (26:09.86), Ryan Cartwright in 27th (26:28.26), J.J. Wetzel in 30th in 26:40.80 and Aaron Smith and John Commins placing 39th (27:14.69) and 40th (27:16.31) respectively.

Behind Thomas on the women’s side was Cara Wettlaufer with a 21st place finish in 23:30.40. Morgan Little scored for the Retrievers with a 47th place finish in 25:39.86 while U’Tonna Sherrod placed 50th in 25:46.03 and freshman Tawny Barin was 61st in 26:11.63.
