2008: Competed in five meets for the Retrievers, scoring in one… Ran a career-best 8K time of 25:46.10 at the Princeton Invitational, finishing fourth for UMBC… Also ran a career-best 5K time of 16:51.95 at the season-opening Mount St. Mary’s Dual 5K’s.

 

2007: Scored in all but one meet during the season, the America East Championships… Saw his best 8K of the year at the William and Mary Tribe Invitational where he finished the course in 26:17 for 27th place overall as the fourth Retriever… Also crossed fourth at the Navy Invite and to start the season off, where he ran a 17:00.67 at the Mount St. Mary’s Dual 5K’s for 19th place.

 

Background: A three-sport athlete at McConnellsburg H.S., where he lettered in cross country, track and field, and soccer… Captured the 2006 PIAA District 5 Cross Country Championship and also finished as the runner-up in the 1600-meter run at the PIAA Class AA Track championships… Graduated from McConnellsburg H.S. as the Class of 2007 Valedictorian.

 

Personal: One of two children to Robert and Catherine Snyder… Father, Robert, participated in cross country and track and field during college… Has a brother, Matthew (13)… Plans to major in mechanical engineering and would like to become a marine and naval architect… Born November 21, 1988.
