2007: Earned a spot on the All-Conference team after finishing 10^th at the America East Championships, where he ran the 8124-meter course in 26:33.50… Led the Retrievers across the line in four of six meets during the season… Started his collegiate career with a 15^th place finish in 16:46.84 at the Mount St. Mary’s Dual 5K’s and saw his best 8K of the year at the William and Mary Tribe Invitational where he finished 13^th in 25:11… Also ran a 32:19 in the 10K at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals for 92^nd place.

Background: Attended CSG Dingstede in Meppel, Netherlands and was part of the Team 4 Mijl club team where he was coached by Eddie Kiemel… A highly ranked New Zealand runner… Finished third in the 3000-meter run and fourth in the 1500 at the national indoor track and field nationals in 2004, fourth in the 1500 at the outdoor nationals and fourth at the national cross country championships in 2005, and second in the 3000 at the indoor nationals, fourth in the 5000 at the outdoor nationals, and fifth at the cross country nationals in 2006… Was also a 2006 European cross country team selection and finished fourth in the national volleyball championships with his team, AVV Merna.

Personal: One of three children to Jaap Zwama and Agnes Iedema… Has two brothers, Peter (18) and Martijn (27), and a sister, Judith (24)… Major is undecided, but would like to work in the field of sports management… Born April 23, 1987.
