2005: Competed and scored in all seven meets…scored as the fifth Retriever to cross the line in the America East Championships, placing 16th overall in an 8K time of 26:43.00 to help the Retrievers to a first place finish…finished as the fourth Retriever at the 10K NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Meet, placing 121st in 33:15.90…placed 11th in the 5K season opener at the Mount St. Mary’s Duals, running a time of 16:18.33…placed 31st in the 8K course at the Binghamton Invitational with a time of 27:11.00…in two other 8K’s ran a 27:07.31 to finish 23rd at the Navy Invitational and a 26:14.00 for a 211th place finish at the Lehigh Paul Short Run…ran a 27:46.70 in the five-mile course at the Lafayette Invitational.
2004: Earned the team’s Unsung Hero Award after an impressive first season with the Retrievers…competed in five events, growing stronger through out the year…Opened the season with a 43rd place finish in the Mount St. Mary’s Duals, running a 6K time of 16:31.47...missed the next two meets before scoring as the Retrievers’ fourth best runner and taking seventh overall at the Maryland Collegiate Open, running an 8K time of 26:00.00…that meet started a streak of placing in the Retrievers’ top-five the remaining three races of the season, including finishing as the third Retriever at the Penn State Open in a 5.2 mile run of 27:48.00…finished as the fifth Retriever and took 33rd at the America East Conference Championships in an 8K mark of 26:13.70…placed 118th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals with the Retrievers’ fourth best finish in 34:12.00 across the 10K run.
Background: Named the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) Conference 2003 Rookie of the Year and a member of the UCAA All Conference First Team for his strong contributions to the Saints…was second among all first-year runners and first among all UCAA rookies at both the NYSCTC Championship and the NCAA qualifying race...finished in the Saint top-five at the Atlantic Regional Qualifying race at Geneseo, scoring 32nd with a time of 26:20.3, and at the State Championships finishing 17th in 26:37…also came in sixth at the UCAA Championships, helping the Saints win the Conference team title in his rookie season…was also the top Saint finisher in the Plattsburgh race, finishing in 4th overall in 21:36.
At Falmouth High School: A standout in cross country and track, earning All Conference and All State honors as well as being named a USA Track and Field All America in cross country…was Maine’s State Class C Champion as a sophomore and captained cross country, indoor and outdoor track…also a member of the National Honor Society and was a DAR and English Academic Award winner.
