LEESBURG, Va. – Both the UMBC men's and women's cross country teams placed fourth, repectively, at the Mason Invitational, Saturday morning at Outlands Plantation. In Virginia, Mezebish led the Retrievers across the line for the second time this season, after leading the team at the Salty Dog Invitational two weeks ago. Behind the captain, freshman Nicole Dawson (Jessup, Md./Hammond) once again put it a strong run, finishing 20th with a time of 24:01.8 while junior Kirsten McGovern (Sykesville, Md./Century) and sophomore Sarah Daly (Lake Orion, Mich/Lake Orion) finished just behind in 22nd and 23rd, respectively. Freshman Harmony Roche (Millersville, Md./Severn School) completed the scoring for UMBC.
UMBC now has the week off from competition before heading to Princeton, N.J. for the Princeton Invitational on Oct. 13.
