BALTIMORE—The UMBC men's and women's cross country teams travel to Boston, Mass. this weekend to take part in the 2010 America East Cross Country Championships Saturday, hosted by Boston University.

Both teams will look to improve upon eighth-place finishes a year ago, as the women are led by senior Sara Parkinson (Lancashire, England/Loughborough University), who is a two-time America East Cross Country All-Conference honoree, and the men are led by junior transfer Sam Boimov (Montgomery Village, Md./Gaithersburg/Salisbury), who in his first meet as a Retriever, placed second at the Mount St. Mary's Dual 5K's.

Helping lead the women is junior Keri Wilson (Columbia, Md./Long Reach), who has been solid this year, crossing the line second for the Retrievers in every meet this year, including a 10th place finish at the season opening meet at Mount St. Mary's. The men will also look to freshman Brandan McGee (Hiram, Ohio/Crestwood), who was the first Retriever across the line at the Navy Invitational, placing 17th overall.

Last year, Binghamton won the men's race, while Stony Brook took the women's for the third consecutive season. The UMBC men won the conference meet in 2005, while the highest the women have finished is seventh on three occasions.
