Dalton Tolliver was named to the America East All-Championship Team

ALBANY, N.Y. – UMBC volleyball freshman Dalton Tolliver (Ortonville, Mich./Notre Dame Prep) picked up one more award for the 2011 season, as she was named to the America East All-Championship Team, the conference announced Saturday evening. 

In the Retrievers lone match of the conference tournament, Tolliver led the team in hitting, finishing with 13 kills with a .393 hitting percentage, against Albany, Friday night.

During her freshman year, Tolliver, the America East Rookie of the Year, tallied double-digit kills 11 times, posting a season-high of 18 in UMBC’s regular finale at Providence.  The freshman ended up leading the team in kills with 235, just one ahead of classmate Hannah Schmidt (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales). 

Also named to the All-America East Second Team, Tolliver finished the season second on the team in hitting percentage (.255) and total blocks (80). 

During the season, Tolliver was named conference Rookie of the Week twice, while also garnering the honor of Player of the Week after the Retrievers’ two home victories against New Hampshire and Hartford.
