UMBC

UMBC swept Sacred Heart, 30-18, 30-14, 30-20, in a Northeast Conference volleyball match, Sunday afternoon at the UMBC RAC Arena.  UMBC improved to 16-11 (7-2 NEC) and the Pioneers dropped to 2-27 (1-8 NEC).

The Retrievers hit a scorching .356 for the match and held the Pioneers to a .132 hitting mark.  UMBC freshman outside hitter Kristi Nall and sophomore middle hitter Jocelyn Teoh each recorded a match-high 10 kills to lead the Retrievers.  Freshman outside hitter Christine Skala added 9 kills and four service aces and sophomore outside hitter Tauna Woolery added  a match-high 5 aces.

Junior middle hitter Caitlin Azhderan led Sacred Heart with 6 kills and junior Tara Riddle and sophomore Stacey Geyer each added 5.  Junior outside hitter Meghan Eaton also recorded a match-high 19 digs.
