11/14/2002
HARRISONBURG, Va. (11/13/02) - James Madison closed out its regular season
in women's volleyball with a 30-19, 30-22, 22-30, 30-13 non-conference
victory against Maryland-Baltimore County Wednesday night in Sinclair Gym
of Godwin Hall.
The Dukes, who won 13 of their last 15 matches, will head into Colonial
Athletic Association Tournament play, Nov. 22-24 at JMU, with a 19-9
overall ledger. The Retrievers, members of the Northeast Conference, fell
to 15-11 and have two regular-season matches remaining.
JMU senior outside hitter Jessica Evers (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle)
hit .500 en route to posting her second consecutive 20-kill performance and
tied her season high. Evers, whose career high is 23, also contributed two
of the Dukes' seven aces and registered 11 digs.
Junior Dana Jones (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) tallied 16 kills while
hitting .394 and was second among the Dukes with 15 digs. Senior Larissa

per game, was in on only three blocks, but established a JMU Division I
record in the match. Her first block assist of the night was her 124th of
the season, breaking the record she shared with Susan Martin '96. Fuchs
