Game Story November 3, 2002UMBC VOLLEYBALL EDGES ST. FRANCIS (PA), 3-2Baltimore, MD - - -UMBC held on for a 3-2 victory against St. Francis (PA), Sunday afternoon at UMBC RAC Arena. The Retrievers improved to 15-9 (6-2 NEC) and the Red Flash dropped to 13-15 (3-3 NEC).UMBC took control of the match early by winning the first two games by scores of 30-25 and 30-22. However, St. Francis (PA) edged UMBC, 31-29 in game three and forced a game five by winning the fourth game 30-26.UMBC hit .251 and held the Red Flash to a .177 hitting mark. Retrievers' freshman outside hitter Kristi Nall recorded a season-high 24 kills and hit .475 from the floor. Sophomore middle hitter Jocelyn Teoh added 14 kills, 13 digs, and 5 blocks, while classmate Tauna Woolery added 11 kills, 7 aces and 9 digs.Freshman outside hitter Emily Turza led the Red Flash with 24 kills and added 19 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Nichole Hyer added 18 kills and 16 digs.- - -UMBC - - -
