Volleyball Takes on American Wednesday Night at the RAC

BALTIMORE—The UMBC volleyball team hosts American in its last non-conference match of the season, Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the RAC. If you can not make it to the game, live stats and video are available through www.umbcretrievers.com
LAST TIME OUT: The Retrievers defeated New Hampshire and Providence over the weekend to improved to 8-12 on the season and 4-2 in America East play. Junior Allie Spaay recorded 95 assists and 44 digs for the weekend and was named America East Setter of the Week for her efforts.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES: American comes to Baltimore on a 13-match winning streak. The Eagles have won their past six matches without dropping a set. They are led by Magdalena Tekiel and Angelina Waterman, who average 3.80 and 3.62 kills per set, respectively. The Eagles’ offense is directed by Krysta Cicala, who averages 9.46 assists per set.
All-Time Series: American leads the series, 23-11, and has won the past seven meetings. AU won the last matchup, 3-0 in 2005, and UMBC’s last win came in 1996.
